"History of Hogwarts" Chap. 1
by Cisco
Sometime around the year 14 B.C. a great event occurred in the wizarding
world. This happening took place near modern day Whitby. Four
great wizards of the time built the first and greatest wizard school ever.
According to ancient texts, Salzar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Helga
Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw found an uninhabited bit of land and
proceeded to protect it from muggles. They first made the area
unplottable, in a forgotten fashion that is believed to have been much
easier that the current potion-incantation combination. The famous
hatred that Slytherin and Gryffindor had of each other is believed to have
been caused by Salzar capturing a muggle and conducting experiements on it
so Salzar would find more ways to protect the school. When Godric
found out he set the muggle free. When Slytherin discovered what
Godric had done, he proceeded to destroy no less than 19 muggle
villages. The two other creators of Hogwarts managed to stop Godric
and Salzar from killing each other, but forever after they hated each other
and often refused to work together.
Construction on the school began soon after the "village"
incident. Thousands of house elves were used to build the castle and
it is believed that 4 house elves were buried somewhere in the school's
walls.
